Debt collection scam
Sunday, July 12, 2009 at 2:26PM
Got this e-mail today...
If anyone was going to use all caps it would be a collection agency but this is a scam.
For one they don't say who they are collecting on behalf of. Secondly they never mentioned me by name fake or otherwise. It was not addressed to my actual e-mail address that I use in real life. And of course the address is phony.
I like how they put the information obtained will be used for solely collecting a debt. Somehow I doubt that.

I got the same e-mail today
July 12th 2009
Yesterday I got the exact same email, same account number, same (supposed) amount owed - identical. Except you left off the best part, the very last sentence, below the line, which states "This email has been sent using a demo version of FollowUpExpert as part of the evaluation process."
I forwarded the stupid thing to paypal, advising them that someone was using their service to scam people!! Everyone who receives this bogus garbage should do the same thing!
I got the same exact email on Saturday. I have NEVER seen a debt agency use something like email. Naturally I was skeptical. I replied and asked them to identify the company as well as any info they had about me.
Of course I would not give any info to them. This is ridiculous that people have time on their hands to do things like this. Needless to say, the debt collectors didnt respond to my email.....
I have gotten two emails from them now.
And the same thing as others they didn't respond to my reply either.
Honestly how low can people get.
Got the same exact email. I am in debt trouble, not anything unmanageable, just worrying. This email scared me coz thats the sort of amount I owe to real banks. So I was like 53 bucks damn!! this could be true!! Thank God I found this site. I can breathe now. Thanx y'all
