Deer Creek shooter charged with 15 counts

Deer Creek Middle School shooting suspect appears in court:

The gunman at the Deer Creek Middle School shooting in Colorado has been charged with 15 counts against him.

Bruco Strong Eagle Eastwood has been charged with counts of criminal attempted murder in the first degree, child abuse resulting in serious bodily injury, and unlawful possession of a weapon on school grounds.

Another article I read stated that he was facing close to 100 years behind bars.

I find it weird that we're talking about a school shooter in the present tense as most of them take the coward's way out.

Is Amy Bishop a Sandwich of Doom

This is how far behind I am right now. I am just getting to writing about the shooting at the University of Alabama-Huntsville and gunwoman Amy Bishop.

As I'm sure you know by now Bishop is accused of shooting six of her colleagues and killing three. Those killed were Gopi K. Podila, Adriel Johnson and Maria Ragland Davis.

The motive is speculated to be because Bishop was denied tenure. One moer reason to eliminate tenure but that's a different rant for a different day.

Bishop also killed her own brother when she was 18 from an alleged shot gun accident. Does this sound like an accident to you?

She told police at the time that she had been trying to learn how to use the gun, which her father had bought for protection, when it accidentally discharged. In all, three shots were fired: Braintree police Chief Paul Frazier said she shot once into a wall, then shot her brother, then fired a third time into the ceiling.

I'll admit my knowledge on firearms is somewhat limited but how can a shotgun be accidentally discharged three times?

She was also questioned in a mail bomb incident where a bomb was sent to another professor but she was never charged.

But on to my point. Ever since her name was made public I've been hearing her described as smart but awkward, intelligent but different. That was the same way Hans Resier was described and now we know how much of a murderous scumbag he turned out to be.

Her lawyer has said that an insanity defense is already being planned. Don't be too shocked if Asperger's is trotted out as her 'insanity'. Which again would go towards wrongly branding all Asperger's patients as potential killers.

Principals shot in Knoxville

If you think teacher on teacher violence started recently in Huntsville you'd be mistaken.

Last week 48-year-old Mark Stephen Foster was told that he would be losing his teaching job at Inskip Elementary School in Knoxville, Tenn.

Rather than taking it like a man Foster allegedly shot Principal Elisa Luna and Assistant Principal Amy Brace.

Brace has been released from the hospital however Luna was in serious condition but has been upgraded to stable. There has also been a fund established for her medical bills.

Teah Wimberly convicted in Amanda Collette's shooting death

Teah Wimberly, 16, convicted of murdering Dillard High classmate:

16-year-old Teah Wimberly was convicted of the shooting death of her Dillard High friend and classmate Amanda Collette in November of 2008.

As I've previously posted Wimebrly shot Amanda after being romantically rejected by Amanda. Wimberly's lawyer tried to use the bad childhood and bipolar defense but the jury didn't buy it and convicted Wikmberly after three hours of deliberation.

Wimberly was charged as an adult and is facing life in prison. No date has been set for sentencing yet.

Bartley plea appeal denied

TN Supreme Court says no to Campbell Co. school shooting appeal:

The Tennessee Supreme Court has declined to hear the appeal of Kenny Bartley. If you'll recall Bartley opened fire in Campbell County High School in Tennessee. He ended up wounding two and killing Assistant Principal Ken Bruce.

Bartley entered a guilty plea and was sentenced to a very long stint in prison which didn't sit well with a lot of teeth gnashers since Bartley was a juvenile at the time.

Bartley appealed his plea to the The Court of Criminal Appeals and they said the plea was valid.

Now the Tennessee Supreme Court said that they will not hear the appeal.

Meanwhile Ken Bruce has filed no appeals against his murder. Oh that's right. He can't. He's dead.

More on the California school shooting

What I've always feared is starting to happen. In the wake of Santee, California school shooting, copycat scenarios are popping up all over the country. Two different AP articles I read in the local rag today say as much. In Williamsport, PA a 14 year old girl shoots another female student that she had feuded with in the past. According to the article the girl held the gun to her own head saying that she didn't want to live anymore. The article is unclear why but at some point she lowered the gun and a round was discharged. The bullet hit the floor and ricocheted striking the victim in the shoulder. Luckily she wasn't killed. In Twenty Nine Palms, California two 17 year old were arrested under suspicion of conspiracy to commit murder. A rifle and a 16 name "hit list" were found at one of the boys homes. 3 teenagers aged 12 and 13 from San Bernardino County, California were arrested for threatening to put a bomb on a teachers desk. And in my own backyard, In Weddington, North Carolina another "hit list" was found in an 8th grade classroom. And in my opinion we will see more. As long as the news media glorifies it, as long as parents of tormentors don't teach their children tolerance, as long as parents of the tormented do not listen to or be involved in the lives of their children we will see more shootings. And that my friends is unfortunate.

As always it was your pleasure.
