Puppies Doused With Acid, Left For Dead:

Two pit bull puppies were doused with acid and left for dead. But thanks to a rescuer, the puppies will live to see another day.The two tortured puppies had their ears chopped off and had acid poured over their bodies.The pit bulls, Smokey and Charlie, were found in east Bakersfield in July and October. Dog rescuers said the dogs had their ears cut off with box cutters or scissors and their backs doused with acid. The puppies were then left for dead in east Bakersfield in the areas of Niles and Fairfax and Monica and Pioneer Drive.

Supporters of their rescuers were able to come up from San Diego to post fliers asking for leads in the animal abuse case. They believe the abuser intended to use the pit bulls for dogfighting.

The dogs are now in foster care and undergoing multiple surgeries to repair muscle, skin and nerve damage.

Now it's no secret that I am not a fan of the breed. It's not their fault really. It's because they've become the breed of choice for scumbags and lowlifes as some sort of scumbag status symbol.

One point for each puppy abused (2), another point for the puppies being doused in acid, another point for their ears being cut, two more points for them being raised for dog fighting, and one last point for the fact that these scumbags are still on the run.  That's eight.

Oakland woman charged with severely injuring more that 15 cats:

An Oakland woman has been charged with two felony counts of animal abuse after severely abusing more than 15 cats and kittens over the past three years, authorities said Tuesday.

After a long investigation by the Oakland Police Department's Oakland Animal Services and the Crime Investigation Division, La Preda Thomas was arraigned Friday on two felony counts of animal abuse charged by the Alameda County District Attorney's Office. Thomas remains in custody awaiting a preliminary hearing.

Thomas was placed under investigation after animal rescue groups discovered that she had cats she claimed to have rescued that had serious and unusual injuries, ranging from multiple broken limbs to huge puncture wounds, police said. Many of the cats also had their claws crudely cut off, sometimes with portions of their toes removed.

In 2007, police seized from Thomas' home a cage with kittens inside that was left in the sun with no water. Police later discovered that two of the kittens each had a front leg that was completely broken in half in almost identical locations, police said.

At one point, police had a resident give Thomas normal, healthy and active kittens only to later find one dead and the others' front legs shattered. One also had pneumonia because of several broken ribs.

In July, searchers rescued three kittens, each with every limb fractured or previously broken. The second search of her home uncovered an injured female cat with a badly broken front leg and a shattered hip, police said.

Despite the number of injured cats rescued from Thomas, she denied hurting the animals, claiming that she looks for injured cats to rescue, trapping or grabbing them in the community, police said.

I guess she just couldn't make the step from animal abuser to serial killer.

15 points for each cat she abused, 3 points for each year she committed abuse, and one more point for trying to claim she was rescuing the cats. That's 19.
