NC Sex offender busted for being on MySpace

Sex Offender Charged With Using MySpace:

66-year-old Howard Michael Bailey of Burlington, NC was arrested for being a registered sex offender on MySpace. In case you haven't heard that's illegal in North Carolina now.

Bailey was also allegedly using e-mail addresses that weren't registered with the state.

I'm sure our fine Attorney General Roy Cooper will laud this as his MySpace legislation is working. While I'm glad a sex offender is off the streets I think I can probably count on one hand how many NC sex offenders have been caught up with this law. Also it doesn't address the real issue of keeping the un-registered predators from contacting children on social sites.

Georgia mulls MySpace/Facebook law

Georgia could restrict sex offenders from Facebook:

Georgia, the state not the country, is considering their own brand of legislation to try and keep registered sex offenders off of social sites like the ubiquitous MySpace and Facebook.

Again this reeks of vote pandering.

Does any of this sound familiar to you?

The measure was introduced by State Rep. Rob Teilhet. I personally could care less what his political affiliation is. However Teilhet is running for a certain state office. That's right kids. He's running for state Attorney General.

Teilhet, a Smyrna Democrat running for attorney general, said the proposal will help clear the Internet of dangerous child predators.

You know what else will help keep the internet clear of predators? Keeping them in jail in the first place.

And again here is another politician too afraid to tell parents to do their damn jobs. It's not supposed to be the government's responsibility to raise your damn kids.

L.A. man charged with MySpace kidnapping and sex assault

Police: Girl Sexually Assaulted by Man She Met on MySpace:

13-year-old girl allegedly kidnapped, assaulted by man she met on MySpace:

Police in Los Angeles arrested 35-year-old Samuel Francisco (yes kids, his name is Sam Francisco) for allegedly kidnapping and sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl that he met on MySpace.

Police say that Fransisco lured the girl away from her middle school and took her to another location where she was sexually assaulted.

Apparently L.A. takes this kind of thing very seriously as the Internet Crimes Against Children Unit, Major Crimes Detectives, Secret Service Agents and Immigration Custom Enforcement Officers all went to Fransisco's residence to get the girl back and to arrest Francisco. That must have been the biggest can of whupass on the other side of his door.

Fransisco may have had other victims as well.

Anyone with information about this crime is asked to contact Los Angeles Police Department's (LAPD) Internet Crimes Against Children Unit, Lieutenant Andrea Grossman at (562) 624-4028 or 1-877-LAPD-24-7.

Friend of bank robbing dumbasses arrested for being a dumbass

Accused bank robber’s girlfriend charged with intimidating witness:

I originally posted about alleged Mass. bank robbing dumbasses Kristopher Santillo and Kaitlin Ingham here.

It seems you can add a third dumbass to the list and her crime even involves MySpace.

17-year-old Kendra Sol, who is allegedly Santillo's girlfriend, is accused of using MySpace to try and intimidate a witness who who was involved the investigation.

I'm sorry but I find it hard to be intimidated by a 17-year-old girl on MySpace.

"Cristal" sentenced for MySpace solicitation

Binghamton man sentenced for luring minors on Internet:

32-year-old Mark McGrath, not the famous one, of Binghamton, New York has been sentenced to 10 years behind bars for solicitation of minors through MySpace.

McGrath admitted to posing as a middle school girl named Cristal in order to solicit under age boys for sex.

He'll also have 15 years of supervised parole when gets out.

So he'll be 42 when he gets out and 57 when he's off probation. Plenty young enough for him to offend again and again the supervision is really not that much of a deterrent.

Cleveland MySpace shooter sentenced

Man gets 18-year sentence for spraying Cleveland neighborhood with AK-47 gunfire after a MySpace argument:

I originally posted about John Dix II here. He is one of the 'adults'  that was convicted of opening fire in a Cleveland neighborhood with an AK-47 because of a MySpace argument between two 13-year-old girls.

He's been sentenced to 18 years behind bars for attempted murder.

I thought an armed society was supposed to be a polite society. I wouldn't call opening fire on a 13-year-old girl polite.

Ohio man accused of MySpace sex with teens

Alleged MySpace misuse leads to sex crimes indictment for New Lebanon man:

21-year-old Joseph Cummings (too easy) of New Lebanon, Ohio is accused of using MySpace to have sex and take nude pics of underage girls.

Cummings allegedly posed as a 17-year-old boy in order to meet girls as young as 14-16.

Cummings is alleged to have had sexual contact with at least two of his victims.

Montgomery County, Ohio Prosecutor Mathias H. Heck, Jr. actually touted some common sense for parents.

“As parents, we all need to be aware of who our children are talking to while online, and never allow them to meet strangers face-to-face.”

In other words check your kids' internet activities. How many times do I have to say it?

It's one thing to know that your teenage daughter is having sex. It's another to know that she had it with an alleged molester.

Bank robbing dumbasses

21-year-old Kristopher Santillo was arrested in Dartmouth, Mass. for allegedly robbing a bank in Acushnet, Mass.

Santillo is said to have posed on his MySpace with some $50 bills.

Also arrested was 17-year-old Kaitlin Ingham. She claims coercion but police aren't buying it.

Jacques' lawyers want to move the trial

The lawyers for Michael Jacques want to move the trial out of Vermont. They say the pre trial publicity would poison the jury.

Let's not forget that Jacques is accused of kidnapping his 12-year-old niece, Brooke Bennett, raping her, killing her and dumping her body in a ditch.

I think that would poison any jury.

Woman not happy with son's girlfriend's MySpace account

The News Herald

A woman is complaining that her son's girlfriend is harassing her on MySpace by creating an account using her picture and entitling it "YOUR A PHYSCO BITCH."

I'd be complaining too just on the grammar and spelling alone.
