Portland craigslist rapist sentenced to less than 8 years

I originally posted about Kurtis Raymond Steltz here.

At the time of his arrest back in August he was accused of responding to an ad for a craigslist masseuse and forced the woman at gunpoint to give him oral sex at several locations before striking her and choking her and raping her on a park table.

For being such a violent predator Stelz was convicted of one count of first degree sex abuse, and one count of first degree sodomy for a sentence of 7 1/2 years.

The sex abuse charge carries a sentence of 75 months; and sodomy a sentence of 90 months. The sentences will be served concurrently.

Sure, lets give a violent rapist concurrent sentences so he can spend less time in jail.

Also notice that the article I linked to never mentioned the word rape once.

Later, KATU News received an e-mail explaining the deal. He said he’d pay nine or ten dollars an hour for the office work and one hundred dollars an hour for the sex work on the floor of his office.

Um...isn't that still prostitution? On craigslist of course.

Just an article on craigslist child prostitution in Eugene, Oregon yet our good friend Jim Buckmaster still says that this is rare on craigslist.

If by rare he means 'all the time' then yes it is rare.

Three charged with pimping underage girls on Craigslist:

In Oregon federal officials have charged Sharlise Michelle Duckworth, 27, Stanley Mack "Bug" Spriggs Jr. (pictured), 26, and Hollie Robin Spriggs, 27, all with child prostitution. The trio is accused of recruiting and pimping out underage girls on craigslist. The three are looking at 10 years to life.

Yet no cares that child prostitution is still going on unabated on craigslist. People are too concerned protectting the first amendment rights of craigslist.

Like I've said before if craigslist was the supposed socially conscious company they claim to be they would make damn sure that child prostitution did not take place on their site.

Teenage prostitutes in Eugene: 'Our main goal ... is to rescue these girls':

The article starts out with telling about James Dublin of Illinois was sentenced to 50 days plus probation for enaging in sexual acts with a 15-year-old prostitute he found on craigslist. That sentence is a joke. Granted that she advertised as being 19 but that shouldn't matter. If you really want to discourage people from enagaging in any aspect of child prostitution they really need to be sentenced to some hard time.

The article goes on to state the obvious that a lot of these girls advertise on craigslist's adult services section. You know that section don't you? That's the one that is supposed to be screened to have only legal adult businesses with a screening process that only seems to be known to craigslist CEO Jim Buckmaster.

Last time I checked 15-year-old hookers aren't a legal adult business in any sense of the word.

This may just be the worst sex crime attributed to craigslist I have ever posted.

44-year-old Darrin Vaughn Daily of Newberg, Oregon has been arrested for running a sex ring that involved the rapes of girls as young as 4 with some of them forced into having sex with his dog. Daily allegedly used craigslist to recruit other men to his depraved activities.

Two teen girls came forward saying that Daily forced them into sex with the men he recruited from craigslist where he often recorded or photographed the acts.

On Daily's computer they found pictures of a 4-year-old girl being sexually assaulted and a 14-year-old girl being forced to have sex with a dog.

Also arrested were Patricio Moreno, 43, Robert D. Thompson, David Garcia, 41, and Alisa Nice, 31. The men are accused of having sex with the girls. No word on what Nice's connection is to the operation.

My gut tells me that the ad was probably posted in the casual encounters section. This just goes to further prove that user policing just doesn't work on craigslist. Again the people who are using craigslist for stuff like buying a couch aren't going to flag illegal casual encounters ads because they're not even going into that section. And the people that are using that section aren't flagging illegal ads because that's what a lot of them are looking for.

As usual no comment from craigslist.

Man Allegedly Sold Fake Super Bowl Tickets On Craigslist:

Remember kids you heard it here first. Excuse me while I do my smug dance.

Ok, I'm back. Anyway, it seems that one Warwick Steven Janetzki of Oregon was arrested for advertising Super Bowl tickets on craigslist and when customers would wire the money for the tickets Janetzki would just keep the money. One of his victims traced him through PayPal and alerted the authorities. Janetzki is said to have scammed people out of a total of $15K.

Stolen ATVs Found On Craigslist, Suspect Arrested:

The dumbass pictured at left is one 20-year-old Eric Saub. He used a fake $29,000 check to scam a Mt. Hood Oregon ATV shop out of four ATV's. So what did he go and do? He then tried to sell them on craigslist. An employee of the ATV shop saw the ads and police took his ass to jail.

For that Mr. Saub wins the Red Forman Dumbass award.

Red would put his all terrain foot in your ass.

Offender sentenced for Craigslist teen sex charges:

I originally posted about Douglas French here. He's the 36-year-old jackhole that put an ad in craigslist for models aged 16-19 and had sex with a 17-year-old girl who applied for the ad. He also supplied her with drugs and alcohol. French had a previous arrest for shacking up with a 16-year-old runaway in Montana. He pleaded not guilty back in August but a judge found him guilty of using a child in a sexual display and sex abuse. He was sentenced to 15 years.
