Huntington Beach PD get yet another craigslist predator

David Bryan, Accused of Asking Girl, 13, to Wear Red Undies, Meet Him for Sex:

It's been over a decade since the last and only time I was in California. If I ever go back I want to go to Huntington Beach. Their police department is starting to become one of my favorites. Much like the Punta Gorda, Florida police have done to get predators and drug dealers off of MySpace in their community the Huntington Beach PD is doing the same in getting craigslist predators out of theirs.

This time the suspect is one 40-year-old David Walker Bryan of Anaheim. Bryan is accused of approaching a 13-year-old girl on the casual encounters section and sending her explicit e-mails and text messages one of which allegedly instructed the girl to masturbate at school.

Bryan was arrested when he met the girl at her house for what he thought was going to be a sexual liaison. However as I'm sure you guessed by now the girl was actually the Huntington Beach Police Department.

Let us not also forget that Bryan is a registered sex offender.

The sad part of this story is that this scumbag is only looking at 5 years behind bars.

The laws need to be changed to keep predators like this behind bars for much longer than these paltry sentences they've been getting. Where are the Attorneys General on that?

And to keep flogging a deceased equine where was the much touted community policing of the casual encounters section on flagging an ad from a 13-year-old girl?

23-year-old Jared Willers of Phoenix, Arizona is said to have rented a house he owned on craigslist.

A 23-year-old tenant moved into the house. On Sunday he was awakened to the sound of people in his house. When he opened the bedroom door he was allegedly greeted by the site of a gun being stuck in his face and being told "Get back in your room, and you did not see anything."

What he did see was Willers and three of his associates removing bricks of weed from the attic.

Willers was arrested along with Clark Furlow, 33, Charlene Henry, 36, and Shanara Lawrence, 26, on various drug charges.

It seems that someone needs to get his priorities straight but he must have spaced on the order. I wonder what would cause something like that?

Illegal circumcisions on craigslist

Grand Rapids area man charged with performing illegal circumcisions on adult males:

56-year-old Thomas Heugel of Michigan was arrested for performing illegal circumcisions on three grown males. Heugel isn't a doctor but had his own little operating room set up in his home. He advertised his services on craigslist.

Doctor impersonation is nothing new but who the hell would get a surgery, no matter how minor, from someone that advertised on craigslist?

I hope that the ad wasn't in the casual encounters section.

31-year-old Arash Koraganie Ghulam Abbas of Germantown, Maryland was arrested back in February on federal charges of human trafficking.

He's accused of taking women who are having immigration issues and pimping them out on craigslist and the Village Voice Media owned backpage.

He allegedly had his own craigslist ad in order to recruit the women that said ‘Who needs a sugar daddy?'.

But again it's a victimless crime right?

Fire Captain Arrested In Sex Sting:

55-year-old Martin Vohwinkel, which no offense sounds like the name of a child molester, of Henderson, Nevada was arrested for using craigslist's casual encounters section to try and set up a meeting with a minor for sex. Vohwinkel is also a captain of the Clark County Fire Department.

Vohwinkel allegedly placed an ad that said he was looking for sex with a young girl. As is usual in these cases the response to his ad came from the Henderson police posing as a 14-year-old girl. Vohwinkel allegedly said that he wanted to meet the girl ASAP and that the younger the better and that he was *shudder* horny.

The best part is when police set up the meeting and went to arrest him they called a number that Vohwinkel had provided the 'girl' and his phone rang.

Again this 'allegedly' happened on the craigslist casual encounters section. Where was the self policing by the craigslist community? Oh that's right, there was none so the real police had to get involved.

Craigslist sale ends in gunfight:

A Cincinnati man was shot in Dayton, Ohio after meeting who he thought was a craigslist buyer for his blue 1986 Chevy Camaro.

The seller was armed himself and returned fire. I don't blame the man for defending himself but just think how many people could have been hit in the shootout.

Anyway 19-year-old Terrell Garrett of Dayton is on the lam with said Camaro.

He was last seen driving the 1986 blue Camaro, license plate number DTU 2800. If you have any information, call Crime Stoppers at 937-222-7867.

Do these kinds of robberies and shoot outs happen on Auto Trader?

I originally posted about Bruce Martin here. He's accused of raping a woman he met through craigslist when he offered to help her modeling career. Allegedly when they met Martin flashed a phony badge and raped her.

His trial was supposed to start on Monday but Martin decided to skip the whole process.

He is said to have cut off his monitoring device and took off. At last check he had not been apprehended.

Who would have thought that an alleged rapist wouldn't honor his legal commitments after being let out? Another reason not to let them out in the first place.

Task force busts 3 accused of $2 million burglary, Internet scam:

A task force in Atlanta have arrested Joseph Mobbs, 32, Kinneth Devrick, 34, and Tracy Devrick, 37, in a multi-million dollar theft ring that involved both craigslist and the eBay owned Kijiji.

The trio are accused of stealing high end appliances from homes that were up for sale then selling them on the classifieds sites.

While Jim Buckmaster says that criminal activity is in the minority of activity in craigslist I would say that 2 million dollars is a pretty big chunk of change for a minority.

craigslist tutor touches tots

In case you needed another reason not to look for tutors on craigslist. Not only would you might get scammed but your kid's tutor may be child toucher.

A woman in Portage, Indiana hired a tutor for her 5-year-old son off of craigslist by the name of BJ Wilhelm. The woman checked in on them regularly and saw no inappropriate behavior. However the 5-year-old told his mother that Wilhelm put his hand under the boy's shirt and rubbed his back and put his fingers in the rear waistband of the boy's pants and rubbed up and down. Ick.

It turns out that Wilhelm is actually 27-year-old Brett J. Zagorac. Zagorac is a former teacher that has gotten into some trouble in the past for inappropriately touching other kids that he taught. Zagorac allegedly used the fake name of Wilhelm because he was having trouble finding work because of his past.

So where does an accused child molester go to find work? Why craigslist of course.

You want to be a teacher and be able to find work? Then don't be a child toucher. It really is that simple.

Portland craigslist rapist sentenced to less than 8 years

At the time of his arrest back in August he was accused of responding to an ad for a craigslist masseuse and forced the woman at gunpoint to give him oral sex at several locations before striking her and choking her and raping her on a park table.

For being such a violent predator Stelz was convicted of one count of first degree sex abuse, and one count of first degree sodomy for a sentence of 7 1/2 years.

The sex abuse charge carries a sentence of 75 months; and sodomy a sentence of 90 months. The sentences will be served concurrently.

Sure, lets give a violent rapist concurrent sentences so he can spend less time in jail.

Also notice that the article I linked to never mentioned the word rape once.
